The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay's Rich Strehl served as this past week's guest speaker and introduced the Rotary Club of Brandon to all of the opportunities that the Foundation offers donors wanting to connect with charities. Rich talked about legacy, planned giving and donor specific giving programs as well as innovative grant opportunities that exist for non profits doing something outside the box to impact the community.

The day got started with Justin Northcutt pinch hitting for Fred Schwabe who was out having knee surgery. Justin did an outstanding job and even noted to the club that Brandon Regional actually did find a funny bone inside of Fred. Who would have guessed? The club sang a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to Ryan Burley who just got a new front number.

Kathy Curry and Jackie Fields both stopped by to donate a check to the Rotary Event Center project on behalf of the Brandon South Club. Thank you so much, Kathy and Jackie!

A reminder about the club's service project for ECHO at the Boys and Girls Club was made as was one for the upcoming Installation Banquet for June 2nd at the Tampa Club.

John Maxwell Team speaker, Kris Beaird will be our guest speaker this week to impart some motivational wisdom for us all. Next week will be our charity check presentations and guest speaker Nick Hall! Should be an awesome two weeks at Rotary!
