The Rotary Club of Brandon kicked off its 2017-2018 Rotary Year with an awesome presentation by motivational speaker and author, Eric Papp, brother of Rotarian Chris Papp. Eric's call to action was to focus on grabbing on, letting go and moving forward, and it was full of energy and a positive message for us all. Author of several leadership books, Eric's clients include Million Dollar Round Table, American Dental Association, Nationwide, Homeland Security, and LifeLock. Eric serves as a weekly leadership expert on News Talk 1530 and publishes original content twice a week on his podcast and blog. Traveling around the globe with a message to increase effectiveness and productivity, Eric focuses on OWNERSHIP AT WORK: CREATING AN “I MAKE IT HAPPEN.” CULTURE.
With the newly constructed Rivard-Simmons Rotary Event Center up and running, and with our club's focus on increasing membership to make an even bigger difference in our community, Eric's time was spent showing the importance of building Rotary's presence and impact both in our own club and throughout the Tampa Bay area. The challenge was set for ALL Rotarians to bring more leaders into the fold to impact them first so they can experience the value of Rotary and the opportunity for they themselves to use their talents to impact others.
Prior to Eric's presentation, newly inducted President Dave Brown got to ring the bell for the first time, and he did an outstanding job of getting everyone pumped up about the new year. Goals have been established, board members and officers are primed and focused and everything is on the right track for a huge Rotary year. Dave reminded everyone about the upcoming Clay Shoot on September 29th and again encouraged everyone to bring a leader to lunch.
This week's program has Brian West from Publix, and the Brandon Rotary Club Charity Fund (BRCCF) recognizes its scholarship award winners at our annual Scholarship Luncheon on Tuesday, July 25th. It should be an awesome day!!
