The Rotary Club of Brandon had another banner day this past week as they inducted the Emergency Care Help Organization's Executive Director, Eleanor Saunders, as their newest Rotarian. Sponsored by recently inducted Dan Coyle, Eleanor took center stage and accepted the duties that go along with becoming a great community Rotarian. The club was excited to have her join the ranks and is expecting big things from her as she begins her Rotary career.

The week brought a lot of thoughts and prayers to many of our Rotarians as Fred Schwabe heads into surgery this coming week, and the club sent best wishes to both the Anello and Simmons families as they care for their family patriarchs. Best wishes to all, and you are all in our prayers.

Our last service project of the Rotary year is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th at the Carey Boys and Girls Club as we will be assisting ECHO with a food collection drive. Rotarians will help bring in and process over 50,000 pounds of food being donated for children and families in our community that are in need. This is a much needed project, and should be a great one for all of us to rally around and contribute to.

The club is also getting ready for its annual Installation Banquet on Thursday, June 2nd at the Tampa Club where we will induct our new club officers and directors. We will also recognize the new Rotary Club Charity Fund board as well. This will be our official change in leadership which will begin July 1st for the new Rotary year which has the theme of Rotary - Serving Humanity.

Speaking of serving humanity, the Rotary Club of Brandon would like to send its congratulations to Liz Fields, her staff, board and volunteers at Rotary's Camp Florida for being recognized as a finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journal's Non Profit of the Year. Rotary's Camp Florida continues to be a top non profit in the NPO industry locally, and Liz's leadership is evident by all of the amazing impact that the camp makes to so many children. Way to go, Rotary's Camp Florida.
