Tuesday 12/1 - The Rotary Club of Brandon's weekly meeting was hopping this past week, even in the absence of crowd pleaser Fred Schwabe. President Chuck had to step in to fill the giant hole left by the club's prestigious Sergeant at Arms. Justin Northcutt, John Dwyer and Alan Feldman took care of the prayer, pledge and four-way test, and the club welcomed visiting Rotarian and former Ohio resident David Hazen and his son, Mike Hazen. Our two birthday boys - Fred Schwabe and Chris Papp - were not in attendance, so the Happy Birthday festivities were put on hold until next week. We said Happy Anniversary to Debbie and Mike Meegan who celebrated their 26th anniversary this week and to Dick Eatman, George Annello and John Gardner who all celebrated Club Anniversaries. The big news of the day was that Ryan Burley went away for Thanksgiving with his girlfriend and came back with a fiancee! It is still unknown if Ryan has told his girlfriend that he now has a new fiancee, but our hope was that it was the same girl!

As for announcements, Roger Rivard asked for the club to help provide some assistance with parking for the Holiday Party on December 19th at the Rivard's. We're sure there are some great teenagers looking for volunteer hours! Golf Tournament Chairman, Troy Dimsdale, let everyone know that the planning for our first fundraiser for our charities is underway, and that everyone needs to make sure to get those foursomes and sponsors lined up for Thursday, January 21st at Buckhorn Golf and Country Club. Wild Game Chairman, Joe Campoamor, let everyone know that Wild Game Dinner tickets are in and would be distributed next week at the meeting. He also told everyone that we need to start filling those freezers with meat for the event as well. President Chuck informed ALL members of the club to please get with Cade Rivard to let him know about their intentions of coming to the Holiday party on the 19th. Kimberly Rivard, who has graciously taken this on for us, needs everyone's RSVP ASAP!

It was a Throw Back Tuesday at the Loft for Brandon Rotarians as longtime member Derrell Curry was the featured guest speaker. Derrell gave an awesome history of Rotary's Camp Florida, how it began, the legacy role that the Rotary Club of Brandon played and continues to play in its history and where the Camp is now. His trip back in time included major contributions from Brandon Rotarians Mike Edenfield and Alan Feldman. It was great to hear about our Club's role in this amazing Camp, and Derrell did a great job of telling the story. Thanks, Derrell!

This week our club has the special privilege of hearing the Brandon High School chorus as they bring their ensemble to the Loft for their holiday choir concert. It should be festive and get us all in the spirit of the holidays.
