Several members of the Rotary Club of Brandon gathered to assist the Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO) this past Saturday at the Bill Carey Boys and Girls Club in Brandon and the ECHO center off of Parsons. The project entailed helping package over 50,000 pounds of inbound food products for local families in need as well as help to organize the ECHO center and process new donations for distribution. New Rotary member, Eleanor Saunders, organized hundreds of volunteers over the six plus hour service project, and the Rotary Club played a key role in the first part of the day.
Chris Myers, Cade Rivard, Ron Croone, Dave West, Alan Feldman, Bob Solano, Pat Skidmore, Clyde Eisenberg, Melissa Cox, John Sellers, Maria Lewis, Lee Elam and Chequita & Chuck Burgess all represented the club throughout the day. From sorting clothes to sorting food stuffs, the day was filled with lots of laughter and fun while the hands of many made a tangible impact on ECHO and the great work that they do in the community.
Thanks to Pat Skidmore and Eleanor Saunders for organizing and to all of the Rotarians that took time out of their weekend to come and assist with the project!
