Tuesday December 8th - It was a packed house and festive weekly meeting for Brandon Rotarians this past week with Brandon High School's very own Aquilla stopping by to perform their annual Christmas caroling program. Even though it was hot outside in December, the festive choral group took us through a winter wonderland of solo's, duets and full choir songs that got everyone in the holiday spirit. It was so wonderful to see so many young, talented individuals that not only were great singers, but they also are so active in leadership, sports, clubs and community service as well. Thanks Larry Fassett for setting this awesome day up for us!

The meeting got kicked of with some superior singing as well with birthday boy and Sergeant at Arms Fred Schwabe being back in the saddle (no, that was no a reference to the Kentucky Derby!). After he basked in one of the club's best renditions of Happy Birthday he welcomed guests Mike Hazen, Joe Lesmeires and propsective member Dan Coyle. Also spending the afternoon with us were visiting Rotarians Renee Douglas (Washingon, NC), David Hazen (Salem, OH) and Brandon '86's Mitch Burley. The club was in especially great spirits as we congratulated Dave brown for the birth of his first grandchild. Poppa Brown was all smiles and he got our Happy Dollars started. Larry Fassett was a proud Dad with his daughter passing the ARNP licensing exam and visiting Rotarian Renee Douglas chipped in the good news that her daughter has blessed her with another grandchild.

President Chuck reminded EVERYONE to make sure to RSVP to the holiday party at the Rivard's and informed the club that Golf Tournament Chairman Troy Dimsdale would be sending out information on sponsorships and team signups for our January 21st fundraiser at Buckhorn Golf and Country Club. Wild Game Dinner Chairman Joe Campoamor passed out tickets and went over the sponsorships for the March 4th fundraiser. The club also congratulated Debbie Meegan on her 6th year of being a Rotarian! Way to go, Debbie!!
