The Rotary Club of Brandon kicked off National Beer Month in prime fashion with guest speaker, John Corsemyer, the amazing VP of Sales for Three Daughters Brewery in St. Pete. John did a fantastic job of showing the club the evolution of the Three Daughters brand and some of the big goals that they have moving forward. It was entertaining, enlightening and refreshing as each Rotarian and guest got a two-pack sample of their Three Daughters Beach Blonde and new Coffee Blonde Ale craft beers. We learned about crowlers, growlers and howlers (wait, that was just Wayne in the back wanting a case of Busch Light)!
The meeting got started with Sergeant At Arms, Fred Schwabe, doing his best to get the crowd into the meeting, and he welcomed a ton of guests and visiting Rotarians. Immediate Past President of the Brandon '86 Club, Jake Mathers, was in the house as was former California Rotarian Taylor Bell.
Past District Governor and longtime Rotarian, Alan Feldman, gave a phenomenal presentation on the club's plans on bringing back our illustrious Baby Rote program so we can educate new members on the history and impact of both Rotary International and the Rotary Club of Brandon. Alan will be meeting with each new Rotarian this year to introduce them to the Baby Rote program so they are better equipped and prepared for a great Rotary experience! Thanks, Alan!
President Dave Brown made sure to remind everyone about our current sponsorship opportunities for the Rotary year along with our upcoming major fundraiser - the Bustin' Clays Clay Shoot at Fish Hawk Sporting Clays on Friday, September 29th. Our goal is to have 100 shooters so we can rock out the donations this year for our charities.
John Gardner then introduced John Corsemyer from Three Daughters, and he took over the show. John gave a great rundown of 3 Daughters' history, partnerships, strategies and future goals. Of course, the entire club was engaged!
Next week's guest speaker is longtime Brandon community leader, Cindy Sofarelli, who will be talking to us about Metropolitan Ministries.
